My parents want me to take Mandarin major in college. Do I need to say more? I don't want to study Mandarin!!! I'm so done with all this. I don't want to have 'optional skills' that are too common (No offense.) How many non-Chinese people in the world who speaks Chinese? And how many non-Hispanic people in the world who speaks Spanish? Huh. Not as much as Chinese obviously.
And then they were talking about, "What if you go to a job interview, and then they ask you what other language do you speak, and you only say Spanish. and then they're like 'Oh, sorry. we don't use Spanish for our company'?!"
PUH-LEEZE! That's not my style. I don't work for people, people work for ME. I don't do what other tells me to do, because I tell people what to do (Unless for certain occasions and purposes). I don't go to job interviews to get hired -- I go to job interviews to HIRE people. I'm not someone's assistant, I'm the one someone assists. I'm Blair Waldorf, not Jenny Humphrey.
I so don't wanna do the back rows and all. I always want to be on top. The leader. Someday... There'll be my name in big gold letters on a big building in Manhattan or Century City. It'll be the brand of clothing that those big-time celebs wear to the Grammys, and the one the stars wear in a hit TV show. It'll be my name that those little kids scream during a red carpet session. It'll be me that those moms came up to and say "You are a great role model for my daughter". Someday, it'll be me.
Why do I chose something different? Because if someone needs it, I could get paid big-time. Probably bigger than people with common skills. If someone's looking for something different, and I'm the one they're looking for, I'm far more successful than the others.
Ex. : The Wizards Of Waverly Place episode where they learn about the time-reversing spell. and then Max made a one-of-a-kind sandwich and got offered for a major sandwich deal. Then Alex reverses time for 17 times, and then the beardy guy just don't like it because it's just... common. Imagine if Justin didn't mess up 17 times and Alex didn't have to reverse time, the Russos would be RICH! and that's exactly what I believe will happen to me. I know I can make it happen. I am my own director of my life.
I want to go to Spanish Lit, Fashion Design, Psychology, Performing Arts, or Architectural Design major. Not Mandarin or Japanese. If I did get to Mandarin (Even though I hope not!), then my how-many years in college would be pointless. What's the use? Why would I reach out something I don't want? It's like standing between an apple tree and a pine tree. Apple tree is the Spanish major and all, while the pine tree is Chinese major. What's the point to climb out the pine tree, when I want to reach out for one apple way over there?
NO. I am my own director of my life. I decide which path I will use. I decide what's best for me. I decide what major will I take. I decide. No one has the right to do that, but me. No one. N-O O-N-E. Not even my parents, teachers, headmistress (That witch!), SBY, or even OBAMA could do.
